On June 19th, 2024, the community gathered at 52nd and Parkside Ave in Philadelphia for the 5th Annual Peace Rally & Picnic, an event that celebrated Juneteenth with unity, joy, and, of course, some fantastic food. With the park bustling with energy, families, friends, and neighbors came together to enjoy the festivities—and Boomer’s Kitchen & Catering’s food truck was there, adding delicious flavors to the celebration.

Philadelphia’s Juneteenth event had everything you’d expect from a perfect summer celebration: moon bounces, popcorn, and cotton candy to keep the little ones entertained, along with music, laughter, and plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. The event drew over 200 attendees, each bringing their own picnic spreads, but for those wanting to explore more, our Boomer’s Kitchen food truck was there to serve the crowd with a variety of savory treats.
Boomer’s Food Truck: Bringing the Flavor to the Peace Rally
As part of the event’s unique experience, the organizers prepaid for 50 guests to enjoy complimentary meals from our food truck. We offered our classic food truck menu, which features some of Boomer’s Kitchen favorites:
- Cheesesteak Egg Rolls: A Philly twist on an egg roll, loaded with seasoned beef, cheese, and peppers, all wrapped and fried to golden perfection.
- Juicy Burgers: Grilled-to-order and topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and cheese, our burgers were a hit among guests craving comfort food.
- Chicken & Waffles: A crowd-pleaser that combines crispy fried chicken with a warm buttermilk waffle, drizzled with syrup and topped with powdered sugar.
For attendees who didn’t bring their own picnic meals, the food truck provided a flavorful alternative, blending local favorites with convenience. Though no special dietary requests were highlighted for this event, our standard menu had something for everyone—from savory snacks to hearty meals.
