6 thick slices of brioche or Texas toast
3 large eggs
½ cup whole milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp brown sugar

Maple Dip
½ cup real maple syrup
2 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Slice the bread cut each slice of bread into thirds (stick-style). Stale bread works best — it soaks up flavor without getting soggy.

Whisk the custard in a wide bowl, beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar until combined. You want a silky texture — no clumps.

Dip and sizzle heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil. Dip each stick into the egg mixture (don’t soak too long), then lay into the hot pan.

Cook until golden, 2–3 minutes per side. They should be crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.

Make the maple dip in a small bowl, whisk the maple syrup, cream cheese, vanilla, and salt until smooth. If it’s too thick, microwave for 10 seconds and stir.

Serve with flair, stack the sticks, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with the maple dip on the side.
